PAX Rising Submission Guidelines
PAX Rising is a highly curated section on the expo floor that is comprised of a small number of independent game developers. So many great games are often overlooked or lost in the modern gaming landscape, and this is an opportunity to help underfunded, up-and-coming developers shine in front of thousands. PAX Rising provides these young indie developers with a legitimate launch pad at a minimizing cost.
Although there are no formal requirements to be considered for PAX Rising, the PAX staff prefers games that are:
- Developed by teams with no more than five full-time employees
- Independently published or without a current publisher
- Games that plan to be released in the next 12 months
Again, you will not necessarily be eliminated if your game fails to meet these requirements. The PAX staff considers games on a case-by-case basis.
If you are selected, you’ll be given a kiosk-style area with half-moon tabletops. The area does not contain chairs or free standing signage. Although a PAX Rising pod is significantly subsidized to assist indie developers in coming to the show, the pod is not gratis. Costs will be clearly outlined if your game is accepted.
