Keep Your Opinion to Yourself: The Myth of the “Objective” Game Review

There’s an ongoing myth that video game reviews should be “objective” and that game critics should keep their opinions to themselves. This panel brings together several game critics to explore all the reasons why an objective review is a) impossible and b) undesirable for everyone other than publishers. Join Joystiq’s Richard Mitchell, Polygon’s Arthur Gies and IGN’s Marty Sliva as they discuss the myth of the objective review and their own personal philosophy on game reviews.

Panelists:

Richard Mitchell [Reviews Content Director, Joystiq], Arthur Gies [Reviews Editor, Polygon], Marty Sliva [Associate Editor, IGN], Adam Sessler [Executive Producer, Rev3Games]
