The parent’s role in policing a kid’s gameplay has evolved; more AAA games, e.g., Mario franchise and Lego games, redefine “family time” and close the generation gap by demonstrating the educative and social-building possibilities of gaming. This diverse panel is both analytical and practical; it analyzes the design elements of games that successfully balance educational and entertainment values, and uses this framework to introduce their kid friendly co-op game: Gooi.
