PAX DEV

Avid gamers know that the real talent of the games industry lies within the humans in studios that make them. Games can’t design, market, or Q&A test, make sure developers get paid, write storylines, or develop at all without the incredible people behind the scenes.

Our PAX Dev content aims to highlight industry professionals talking shop. See these highlighted guests in panels, learn about the many varying ways game development happens and how every role has a purpose (we’re looking at you, legal and HR), and hopefully connect with others hopefuls sitting next to you in the theatre.

If you're thinking, "hmmm... PAX Dev... that sounds familiar..." well, there's a reason!

HISTORY OF PAX DEV

From 2011 to 2019, PAX Dev was a two-day developer conference hosted annually at the Westin in Seattle. In addition to being strictly for the game industry, PAX Dev was a black box, meaning no one could film, photograph or post on social media about what was being discussed during talks, panels, and workshops. A lot of great information was shared in those rooms over the years. In honor of that event, we decided to keep the name and bring some of its spirit to our existing shows. Be sure to check out PAX Dev tracks at PAX East, PAX West, and PAX Unplugged when the schedules are released for those shows in the future.
