DISCORD

Operating all year round, the PAX Discord offers opportunities to stay connected with the community, keep in the loop on announcements such as badge availability, and connect with like-minded fans and engage with our physical event directly with our event channels live from the show floor and abroad.  It will also be home to online events, silly games, and members can even help guide the future of the show by taking part in monthly discussions pertaining to different aspects of the PAX experience.

If you’ve never used Discord before, you should find it a useful tool to connect with folks in the same way you could at a physical PAX. You can find more information on what Discord is and how to use it in the Beginner's Guide to Discord.

HELPFUL TIPS

Get the most out of the Official PAX Discord with some of our helpful tips!

  • Be sure to stop in and introduce yourself in the Introduce Yourself channel upon your arrival.
  • Be sure to follow the Announcements channels so you can be among the first to hear the latest news.
  • Got questions about the show? Drop a message in the General Chat. If the answer’s out there, someone will have it!
  • If you ever need assistance, send a message to our PAX Online bot.  Any messages sent there will automatically create a support ticket and alert our mods/admins.

THE RULES OF THE OFFICIAL PAX DISCORD

1. DON’T HARASS ANYONE
This is a pretty broad one, but the bottom line is no harassment of any kind is welcome at PAX. This also extends to hate speech imagery.  PAX is a celebration of games and the culture around it, and we’re all here because we love games. If you can’t celebrate the differences, at least celebrate the commonality.

2. DON’T BE A JERK
This is a family server and we have strict language filters in place. Think about the language you use and how it may be interpreted by people with different experiences than you. No text or imagery that is sexually explicit, realistically violent, or may cause negative reactions such as seizures or trigger phobias is allowed. We also will not permit any dangerous misinformation (ie, claims that vaccines or masks don’t help prevent disease…they do.)

3. DON’T TALK ABOUT PIRACY
We’re here to celebrate games! Talking about how to steal games undermines the hard work of the people who made all this possible. The people who have spent their lives mastering the craft of making games deserve to be compensated for their work, and more selfishly, it’s in our best interests if they are motivated to continue doing so.

4. DON’T ADVERTISE STUFF
The PAX Discord server is meant for fan discussion, so posting unsolicited links to your blog, social media channels, livestreams, business website or any related links to self-promote or promote a business you work for isn’t okay. PAX has plenty of avenues for promoting products and services applicable to the gaming industry, and if you are interested in advertising with us you can reach out and we’d be delighted to help get your message out in an appropriate way.

5.  HELP US HELP YOU
This server belongs to the community, and we can’t maintain it without your help.  If you see something inappropriate, please let us know by sending a DM to our PAX Online bot.  You’ll find it right at the top of the user list, and sending a message to the Bot will create a ticket and alert our entire Mod/Admin team.

6. LISTEN TO THE MODS
If a Moderator, Staff member, or Enforcer reaches out asking you to change your behavior in some way, please follow the instructions given to you. On our Discord server, you can recognize our mods as their names will be yellow. They are here for the health of the community, and you should thank them profusely.
